Asking for a specific route
We use "19th and holloway" in the above example. If you are familiar with the area, you know
that there is a route 17 at this location. Why no imformation for route 17 in our
reply?
Text message space is limited and we automatically narrow the reply to three routes. Thus, if you need
route 17 specifically you can append it to the end of the message like so:
Some more information:
- The text messaging service is provided by www.textmarks.com
and they do hold onto your phone number. I have been using them for one year and have no reports
of any spam texts. They have an
opt-out link on their website if you are concerned.
-
Arrival times are provided by NextMuni and are no more accurate than
the LCD signs found in bus shelters. That said, this service is still available when an LCD sign is
malfunctioning at a shelter.
-
Because we use Google Maps to turn your location into a latitude & longitude, you can
ask for places such as "Balboa Park BART"
